For my sons 5th Birthday we visited Diggerland in Kent.
I really didn’t know what to expect from it (apart from the obvious) but with a vehicle mad son it was one we had had our eye on for a while!
We loved it! About the size of an adventure farm but with diggers not animals! We went on a Saturday in June and we didn’t have to wait long for any of the rides. We just walked straight on most of them.
We only found one thing that he wasn’t tall enough for, he was even able to go on the bigger rides and best of all drive his own full size digger! A member of staff sits along side you and instructs.
My 10 year old daughter came with us too and enjoyed herself. At over 140cm tall she was even allowed to drive a real car around a course, with a staff member in the passenger seat and a very excited younger brother in the back!
It’s a very cleverly themed place with everything coming from an adapted digger or similar. As far as white knuckle rides. Well I found the spin dizzy terrifying but my children loved it. It’s not a theme park with rollercoasters etc but there are plenty of rides/vehicles to go on, lots of fun.
The setting in Rochester is gorgeous with views over the river from some of the rides. There is a cafe and a shop. Minimum spend of £5 on card so I would recommend taking cash too.
There is also a soft play on site and included in the price but it was 30 degrees when we went so gave that a miss.
If you are not local to Kent, there are 2 more Diggerlands, one in Yorkshire and one in Devon.
We drove from Surrey and it was an easy 1hr15mins.
